Flexi Chef is deliberately personal.

I'm Michael King, a chef with more than 25 years in hospitality, including around 15 years at Head Chef level. I started Flexi Chef because I believed there was room for a different type of chef agency — one where the person you speak to actually understands your kitchen because they're prepared to work in it. And that's still how I run the business today.

I'm Still a Working Chef​

I personally work as many of our client shifts as I can.

That matters to me.

It means I'm not running Flexi Chef from behind a desk. I'm still walking into kitchens, meeting teams, working services and seeing first-hand the pressures hospitality businesses are dealing with.

When I can't personally cover a client, I have a small team of experienced chefs around me.

These aren't simply names pulled from a database.

They're chefs I've worked for, worked alongside and, today, work with as part of Flexi Chef.

I know how they operate. I know their strengths. And I know the standards I expect when somebody represents my business in a client's kitchen.I'd rather have a small team of chefs I trust than hundreds of chefs I've never met.

We're not trying to become a faceless national recruitment agency.

Whether you book us for one emergency shift or ask me to spend several months helping improve your kitchen, your business matters to us.

You might initially call because you're one chef short.While working with you, we may identify problems with food cost, stock control, menu profitability, compliance, recruitment or kitchen systems.That's where the consultancy side of Flexi Chef becomes valuable.
